Reports to: Maintenance Manager

Location: Accra

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Utility Operator to join our operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining various utility equipment, ensuring efficient and safe plant operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Equipment Operation:

1. Operate and monitor utility equipment (e.g., boilers, chillers, pumps, compressors).

2. Perform routine checks and maintenance tasks.

3. Troubleshoot equipment issues and report to supervisors.

Plant Maintenance:

1. Conduct daily inspections of plant facilities and equipment.

2. Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks.

3. Assist in scheduled maintenance shutdowns.

Safety and Quality:

1. Ensure compliance with safety protocols and procedures.

2. Monitor and report any safety hazards or incidents.

3. Maintain high standards of housekeeping and cleanliness.

Collaboration and Communication:

1. Work closely with production teams to ensure efficient operations.

2. Communicate equipment status and issues to supervisors and colleagues.

3. Participate in training and development programs.

Requirements:

Essential:

1. 4+ years of experience in utility operations or maintenance.

2. Technical certification or diploma in mechanical/electrical engineering.

3. Familiarity with industrial equipment and processes.

4. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

5. Ability to work shifts, overtime, and weekends.

Desirable:

1. Experience with PLCs, control systems, and automation.

2. Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.

3. Certification in first aid and emergency response.
