Manufacturing Manager

Akü Organics is a sustainable producer of FDA approved mixed fruit and nut snacks and herbal teas and infusions formulated with natural plant-based ingredients in Accra, Ghana.

Role Overview:

The Product Manufacturing Manager will oversee the end-to-end manufacturing processes at Akü Organics, ensuring efficiency, quality, and sustainability in production. This role requires a dynamic leader with experience in FMCG production to manage operations, optimize workflows, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Planning & Management:

• Develop and implement production schedules to meet demand forecasts and inventory goals.

• Oversee day-to-day manufacturing operations, ensuring efficiency and minimal downtime.

2. Quality Assurance:

• Establish and maintain strict quality control protocols for raw materials and finished products.

• Ensure compliance with FDA standards and other relevant regulations.

3. Process Optimization:

• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste.

• Streamline production processes while maintaining product quality and consistency.

4. Team Leadership:

• Lead, train, and mentor the production team to achieve operational excellence.

• Foster a culture of collaboration, safety, and accountability.

5. Equipment & Facility Management:

• Oversee the maintenance, repair, and upgrade of manufacturing equipment.

• Ensure the manufacturing facility operates in a clean, safe, and organized manner.

6. Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination:

• Manage raw material inventories to prevent shortages or overstock.

• Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to source high-quality, sustainable ingredients.

7. Sustainability Initiatives:

• Champion Akü Organics’ commitment to eco-friendly and sustainable production practices.

• Implement innovative solutions to reduce the environmental impact of manufacturing.

8. Reporting & Analysis:

• Track production metrics, analyze performance, and report on KPIs to senior management.

• Develop and manage the production budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Food Science, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a production management role within the FMCG industry.

• Strong knowledge of FDA regulations and food safety standards.

• Demonstrated expertise in production planning, process improvement, and team leadership.

• Experience with sustainable manufacturing practices is highly desirable.
