Role Description and Responsibilities

This is a full-time on-site role for a Hydraulic Mechanic. The Hydraulic Mechanic will be primarily responsible for troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining hydraulic systems and steering units on standard and specialized trailers, truck tractors and tipping units, cranes and forklifts. The role will additionally require:

1. Understanding diagrams, schematic drawings ability to conduct research and generate solutions.

2. Installing and testing hydraulic components, such as pumps, motors, cylinders and fitting complex hydraulic hoses.

3. Troubleshooting and repairing faults in hydraulic trailers and truck tractors. 

4. Conducting routine maintenance and servicing to prevent system failures and downtime.

5. Collaborating with other technicians and to resolve complex issues

6. Ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.

Skills / Competencies / Qualifications

Candidates applying for this role must be an extremely skilled technician / fitter with a strong mechanical aptitude. Candidates must also possess strong problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.

Candidates must have a minimum of a Higher National Diploma (HND) in mechanical engineering with not less than three (3) years practical experience.
