About the Role

Traaple is looking for a Finance & Business Operations Lead to take ownership of financial management, strategic planning, and operational efficiency as we scale. This role goes beyond traditional accounting—you’ll be responsible for cash flow management, revenue tracking, supplier payouts, and ensuring investor readiness.

You’ll work directly with the CEO to maintain financial stability, structure supplier payments, manage investor relations, and oversee our expanding revenue streams from experience bookings, OTAs, and B2B partnerships.

What You’ll Be Doing

1. Financial Management & Cash Flow Optimization

• Oversee real-time financial tracking—cash flow, revenue, expenses, and supplier payments.
• Ensure supplier and partner payouts are handled on time and efficiently.
• Maintain accurate P&L statements, balance sheets, and financial forecasts.

Success Metric: 100% accurate financial tracking & cash flow forecasting.

2. Investor-Ready Financial Reporting & Strategic Planning

• Prepare monthly & quarterly investor reports—P&L, revenue performance, and runway tracking.
• Build financial models to optimize revenue streams & pricing strategies.
• Work with the CEO on investment planning and capital efficiency strategies.

Success Metric: Investors receive financial updates on time & with clear growth insights.

3. Pricing & Revenue Model Optimization

• Track bookings across Traaple & OTA platforms to analyze performance.
• Develop strategic pricing models for supplier commissions, experience fees, and marketplace revenue.
• Manage multi-currency transactions and optimize cost structures.

Success Metric: Increased revenue efficiency across all experience categories.

4. Compliance, Taxation & Financial Risk Management

• Ensure Traaple is compliant with tax laws across multiple African markets.
• Oversee contracts, invoicing, and financial agreements with suppliers & partners.
• Implement fraud prevention measures and financial risk controls.

Success Metric: Zero financial compliance issues or major accounting errors.

5. Operational Efficiency & Business Support

• Improve internal financial processes for better operational execution.
• Optimize payment gateway fees, FX rates, and financial tools.
• Support cross-functional teams (Growth, Partnerships, Product) with financial insights.

Success Metric: Finance directly contributes to business growth & cost reduction.

Who You Are

• 3-7 years experience in finance, accounting, or business operations (startup, travel, or e-commerce experience is a plus).
• Strong financial modeling & reporting skills (Excel, QuickBooks, Xero, or similar tools).
• Experience with multi-currency transactions & international payments.
• Knowledge of tax compliance & financial regulations in African markets.
• Ability to move fast, handle pressure, and solve problems proactively.
• Strong communication skills—can explain financial insights to non-finance teams.
