Role Description

This is a contract Hybrid role for a Dyeing Manager at Shrekahnth. The Dyeing Manager will be responsible for overseeing the natural dyeing process of yarns, ensuring sustainable and non-toxic practices in Ghana, Benin and Nigeria. The role involves coordinating with indigenous communities for sourcing plant-based dyes, managing the dyeing of textiles and yarns, and maintaining quality standards for sustainable fashion collections.

Qualifications

• Research Contribution: Provide research on natural dyes and dyeing pits in Ghana, Benin, and Nigeria.
• Pilot Program Facilitation: Create fabric and yarn swatches using company-provided materials for sampling and swatch card.
• Documentation: Record dye compositions and water requirements to achieve specific colors and color codes.
• Fair Wage Advisory: advise the company on fair wages for artisans and dyers.
• Quality Control: Involve in textile development and quality control to ensure sustainability and high quality.

• Experience in natural dyeing processes and sustainable practices.
• Knowledge of plant-based dyes and their sources.
• Skills in yarn and textile dyeing and color management.
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
• Ability to work independently and remotely.
• Understanding of traditional craftsmanship and modern design integration.
