CONSTRUCTION MANAGER

Our client, a leading construction company, is seeking a CONSTRUCTION MANAGER to oversee and manage the company's contractual and developmental projects.
ROLE PROFILE
The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all on-site construction activities to ensure timely completion, adherence to quality standards, and compliance with safety regulations. He or she will carry out the following duties:
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT & PROJECT OVERSIGHT
· Oversee and manage construction projects, including site operations, scheduling, budgeting, and quality control.
· Supervise and lead a team of engineers, site supervisors, and construction workers, ensuring efficient project execution.
· Coordinate and manage relationships with stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
· Set clear project objectives and align goals with company strategies, monitoring performance and progress.
· Exhibit accountability and responsibility for project execution, ensuring deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
· Provide leadership in employee relations through effective communication, training, coaching, and conflict resolution.
· Plan and schedule construction activities to optimize efficiency, productivity, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
· Ensure timely completion of project and deliverables, addressing challenges proactively.
· Evaluate project documentation and ensure approvals before submission to management.
· Provide exceptional customer service with innovative construction techniques and solutions.
· Lead project meetings with stakeholders to discuss progress, challenges, and additional requirements.
· Participate actively in and, when required, lead construction and operations meetings.
· Ensure job-specific responsibilities are assigned and executed per company competency frameworks.
· Ensure appropriate resources, including materials, equipment, and manpower, are available and properly utilized.
· Provide technical recommendations for evaluating project data, troubleshooting issues, and implementing process improvements.
· Approve and monitor subcontractors and suppliers to ensure compliance with project requirements.
PROJECT PLANNING & EXECUTION
· Develop and implement construction policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company standards.
· Align departmental goals with short- and long-term company objectives.
· Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations, maintaining necessary permits and certifications.
· Stay informed on regulatory updates and ensure construction policies and manuals are current and accessible.
· Establish systems for evaluating, revising, and communicating policies and procedures.
· Implement a quality control program to ensure adherence to construction standards and prevent defects.
· Ensure proper execution of project plans, material specifications, and construction techniques.
· Promote a culture of safety, quality, and efficiency within the department.
· Review and approve construction plans, schedules, and specifications before final authorization.
· Assist in developing training programs to improve the technical expertise of construction personnel.
· Verify all construction results and ensure appropriate documentation before project closeout.
STAKEHOLDER COMMUNICATIONS
· Foster clear, transparent, and cross-functional communication within the team and with external stakeholders.
· Utilize construction management software to optimize project tracking and efficiency.
· Ensure accountability and timely dissemination of critical project information.
· Provide accurate and concise project reports to senior management.
· Deliver exceptional customer service and track project KPIs.
· Ensure all project documentation is properly reviewed, signed, and filed.
· Prioritize and coordinate responsibilities to maintain efficient project workflow.
· Optimize manpower and material allocation to achieve cost-effective construction operations.
· Ensure corrective action plans are completed promptly.
· Adjust project priorities as needed to meet deadlines and budget constraints.
· Complete all construction project tasks within budget and schedule.
· Prepare and oversee project documentation per regulatory and company standards.
· Review and update construction documentation to ensure compliance.
· Generate statistical reports on project performance for management review.
· Assist in the preparation of annual construction reports in line with company objectives.
· Ensure all recorded data is accurate, complete, and properly archived.
BUDGET & COST CONTROL
· Participate in cost control initiatives, identifying areas for budget efficiency.
· Evaluate practices to identify cost-saving opportunities, including labor and material optimization.
· Assist in determining the most cost-effective materials and methods for construction projects.
· Provide management with financial data necessary for budgeting and forecasting.
· Implement strategies to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and enhance project
COMPLIANCE & SAFETY
· Enforce adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies on all construction sites.
· Ensure all personnel comply with safety protocols and PPE requirements.
· Maintain records of safety and compliance reviews, ensuring prompt corrective actions.
· Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards, enforcing adherence to construction codes and best practices
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
· A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture or a related field.
· A minimum of 15 years of proven working experience in construction site management.
· Must have experience in industrial plants.
REQUIREMENTS
· Ability to troubleshoot issues and make informed decisions under pressure.
· Must be honest with a high sense of integrity.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with contractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
· Experience in using construction management software.
· Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with teams.

· Must be strict, firm and fair in dealing with people.
· Must have knowledge of construction processes, safety regulations, and project management principles.
· Strong leadership, team management, and decision-making skills.
· Must have experience in managing budgets and controlling construction costs.
· Must be a good team player and have problem-solving skills.
· Proficiency in office management software (Google workspace, Office 365).
· Must understand building and safety codes, regulatory issues and legislation related to construction.
