Position: Business Development Manager
Company: JMGL which is a subsidiary of JMG Group, is a leading company in power generation (Diesel Gensets), HVAC solutions (Air Conditioning), electrical infrastructures, and industrial equipment in West Africa. We represent global brands such as FG Wilson (A Caterpillar owned brand), Trane (HVAC) & Legrand (Electricals).
Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly driven and experienced Business Development Manager to expand our market presence and foster growth in the diesel generating sets, HVAC (Air conditioning), and electrical sectors. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in these industries or similar areas like building materials, with established relationships among contractors, consultants, developers, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) firms. This dynamic role involves identifying and securing new business opportunities, driving sales strategies, and engaging in cross-selling across our diverse product offerings.
Key Responsibilities:
Build and maintain relationships with key industry players, including contractors, consultants, developers, and MEP companies, to identify new business opportunities.
Develop and implement strategic sales plans that drive business growth and expand our product reach.
Actively manage the sales pipeline, from prospecting to closing deals, ensuring customer satisfaction and retention.
Collaborate with internal teams to align sales strategies with our technical capabilities and product offerings.
Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and customer needs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or equivalent.
Proven experience in business development, preferably in the diesel generator, HVAC, electrical, or building materials sectors.Strong network within relevant industries (contractors, consultants, MEP, architects) is a MUSTExceptional communication and negotiation skills, with a proactive and goal-oriented mindset.Dynamic, proactive and able to work independently and take initiatives
