Job Summary: To provide dynamic leadership in the Primary Department by ensuring academic excellence, fostering a nurturing learning environment, and supporting staff development while upholding the school’s mission and Cambridge curriculum standards to empower every student to achieve their full potential.
Responsibilities
Academic Leadership and Lead Learner Role:
- Oversee the effective implementation of the Cambridge Curriculum at the primary level.
- Promote best practices in formative and summative assessment to ensure data-driven instruction.
- Support teachers in designing differentiated learning strategies for diverse student needs
- Encourage students to engage in inquiry-based learning and develop critical thinking skills.
- Implement Cambridge assessment policies to ensure students are well-prepared for internal and external examinations.
Child Protection and Student Well-being:
- Ensure full compliance with child protection policies and safeguarding procedures.
- Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), overseeing child safety initiatives.
- Implement programs that promote students’ emotional, psychological, and social well-being.
- Collaborate with counsellors, teachers, and parents to provide holistic student support.
- Address cases of bullying, discrimination, or abuse with prompt and appropriate action.

- Champion the school’s vision and mission in all aspects of leadership and decision-making.
- Maintain and enhance a positive school culture that reflects the core values of Brainy Bairn School.
- Lead initiatives that enhance school identity, ethos, and Cambridge learner attributes (confident, responsible, reflective, innovative, and engaged).
- Ensure that all stakeholders— students, staff, and parents —align with and contribute to the school’s positive culture.
Staff Development & Performance Management
- Support the onboarding, training, and professional development of teaching staff.
- Conduct teacher evaluations based on formative and summative assessments of teaching effectiveness.
- Encourage a collaborative, research-based approach to pedagogy and learning methodologies.
Student Discipline & Development
- Oversee student behaviour management, ensuring fair and effective discipline policies.
- Develop and implement mentorship programs to foster student leadership and character development.
- Promote student responsibility and independence.
- Engage with students to understand their needs and foster a sense of belonging and respect.
Parent & Community Engagement
- Strengthen parent-school relationships through transparent communication and engagement programs.
- Address parental concerns regarding student progress, discipline, and school activities.
- Represent the school in community forums, fostering strong external partnerships.
ICT Integration & Innovation
- Promote technology-driven learning and ensure staff proficiency in digital tools.
- Oversee the integration of ICT in teaching, assessment, and school administration.
- Ensure the safe and effective use of digital learning platforms by students and staff.

Qualifications
Education &Experience:
- Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, English Language or a related field.
- Teaching certification/license.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience in child protection and student well-being programs.
- Competency in ICT for education and administration.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong leadership and strategic thinking.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven track record in curriculum development and implementation.
- Ability to foster a positive and inclusive school culture.
- Proficiency in conflict resolution and student behaviour management.
