Utility Manager

Key Responsibilities:

Utility Operations Management:

• Oversee daily operations of all utility systems, including boilers, compressors, generators, and water treatment facilities.
• Monitor and optimize the consumption of energy, steam, and water to reduce waste and costs.
• Ensure utilities are supplied consistently and meet the requirements of production.

Maintenance and Repairs:

• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for utility systems.
• Supervise and coordinate the repair of utility equipment to minimize downtime.
• Monitor the performance of equipment and troubleshoot issues to ensure efficiency.

Energy Efficiency and Sustainability:

• Implement strategies to improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
• Monitor energy consumption and identify opportunities for cost savings.
• Maintain records of utility usage and prepare sustainability reports.

Team Supervision and Development:

• Lead, train, and supervise utility technicians and operators to ensure proper operation of equipment.
• Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to improve team productivity.

Regulatory Compliance:

• Ensure all utility systems comply with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
• Coordinate inspections and audits of utility operations by regulatory authorities.
• Maintain documentation for compliance and certifications.

Reporting and Communication:

• Prepare and submit regular utility performance reports to management.
• Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager and other departments to align utility operations with production needs.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

• Achievement of energy efficiency and cost reduction targets.
• Minimal downtime of utility systems.
• Compliance with all safety and regulatory standards.
• Timeliness and accuracy of utility operations reports.
• Staff competency and adherence to maintenance schedules.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Energy Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in utility management, preferably in the food processing or manufacturing industry.
• Strong knowledge of utility systems, including boilers, compressors, and water treatment.
• Proven experience in energy management and cost optimization.
• Leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Proficiency in MS Office and utility management software.
