Job Title: Technical Sales Engineer

Department: Operations

Reporting To: Operations Manager

Location: Adenta Ashiyie- Dodowa Road

Slots Available: Two (2)

 

Job Summary

 

The Technical Sales Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining strong business relationships with existing and potential clients. This role involves expanding sales territories, preparing proposals and tenders, negotiating contracts, and providing technical support before and after-sales. The ideal candidate should have a solid engineering background, excellent sales expertise, and strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills to drive business growth.

 

1.     Key Responsibilities

 

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with existing clients.
  • Identify and engage with new clients to expand sales opportunities.
  • Conduct customer visits and industry networking to generate leads.
  • Review cost and sales performance, analyzing areas for improvement.
  • Prepare tenders, proposals, and quotations for potential customers.
  • Organize and conduct sales visits and product demonstrations.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms & conditions with clients.
  • Provide pre-sales and post-sales support, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop customized solutions based on client needs.
  • Conduct market research and product development initiatives.
  • Liaise with suppliers regarding product issues, foreseeable problems, and solutions.
  • Prepare comprehensive sales reports and literature for management review.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activities, and business opportunities.
  • Support other members of the sales team in achieving team targets.
  • Stay current with market trends, industry developments, and emerging technologies.
  • Assist in product training and knowledge-sharing sessions.

 

  • Perform any additional tasks assigned by management to enhance business growth.

 

2.     Competencies & Skills

 

Ø Sales & Negotiation: Ability to identify opportunities, close deals, and negotiate contracts.

Ø Technical Knowledge: Understanding of mechanical, electrical, or electronic engineering concepts.

Ø Communication & Relationship Building: Strong client engagement, presentation, and persuasion skills.

Ø Analytical & Problem-Solving: Ability to assess market trends and troubleshoot issues.

Ø Self-Motivation: Proactive, goal-oriented, and able to work independently or in a team.

 


3.     Qualifications & Certifications

  • Minimum: BSc. in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering.
  • Experience: At least 1 year of post-national service experience.
  • Preferred: Previous sales experience is an added advantage.
  • Valid driver’s license is an added advantage.

·      Proficiency in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

·      Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
