Job Summary
As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a crucial role in providing specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs, including those with disabilities or exceptionalities. Your primary objective will be to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment where all students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Job Description/Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to assess students' strengths, challenges, and learning goals.
- Design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that address students' unique needs, accommodations, and modifications.
- Adapt curriculum materials, teaching strategies, and instructional approaches to meet the diverse learning styles and abilities of students with disabilities.
- Provide differentiated instruction and scaffolding to support students in accessing grade-level content and achieving academic success.
- Create a structured and supportive classroom environment that fosters positive behavior, collaboration, and mutual respect among students.
- Utilize assistive technology tools and resources to enhance students' access to the curriculum and facilitate their participation in learning activities.
- Provide training and support to students in the use of assistive technology devices and software applications.
- Collect and analyze data on students' academic progress, behavior, and skill development to inform instructional decision-making and IEP goal setting.
- Conduct ongoing assessments and progress monitoring activities to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and instructional strategies.
- Provide resources, guidance, and advocacy support to families navigating the special education system and accessing community services.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, administrators, and external service providers to ensure coordinated and cohesive support for students with disabilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's in Special Education, Education, or a related field.
- Special education teaching certification or licensure, as required by state or local regulations.
- Experience working with students with disabilities in a classroom or educational setting.
- Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices in assessment and instruction.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Compassion, patience, and a commitment to advocating for the needs and rights of students with disabilities.
