Job Summary:
A reputable Telecommunication Company is seeking an experienced Senior NOC Supervisor to oversee the Network Operations Center (NOC) team, ensuring 24/7 monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance of the company’s telecommunications infrastructure. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and incident management skills to maintain network uptime and ensure prompt resolution of network issues. The Senior NOC Supervisor will play a crucial role in coordinating with internal teams, service providers, and vendors to ensure high network availability and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Network Monitoring & Incident Management
- Supervise real-time network monitoring using NOC tools to detect and resolve network faults.
- Ensure efficient incident response, root cause analysis (RCA), and resolution of network outages.
- Manage network alarms, escalations, and major incident handling, coordinating with the engineering team for quick resolution.
- Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for fault management, troubleshooting, and escalations.
- Maintain accurate incident reports, outage logs, and performance analytics for management review.
Team Leadership & Training
- Lead and mentor a team of NOC engineers and technicians, providing guidance and performance management.
- Develop training programs to improve troubleshooting efficiency and technical knowledge within the team.
- Ensure NOC personnel adhere to SLAs, KPIs, and operational best practices.
- Schedule and manage NOC shifts to ensure 24/7 network coverage.
Network Performance & Optimization
- Monitor and analyze network performance trends, identifying areas for optimization.
- Collaborate with network engineers and IT teams to implement performance improvements and upgrades.
- Oversee software updates, patches, and maintenance schedules for network infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with security protocols and industry standards for network operations.
Collaboration & Reporting
- Coordinate with third-party vendors, service providers, and internal teams for issue resolution and escalations.
- Provide weekly and monthly reports on network performance, incidents, and key operational insights.
- Participate in strategic planning for network infrastructure improvements and capacity planning.
Candidate Requirements:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in a NOC environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Hands-on experience in ISP, telecom, or enterprise network environments.
Technical Skills:
- Expertise in network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, Zabbix).
- Strong knowledge of routing, switching, and protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPNs).
- Experience with fiber optic, microwave, wireless, and IP-based networks.
- Understanding of firewalls, load balancers, and security best practices.
- Ability to analyze SNMP logs, network traffic, and troubleshoot complex network issues.
Soft Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure in a high-availability, 24/7 network environment.
