The job will involve building a sales team targeted at onboarding new customers, supporting existing customers and gathering feedback to inform strategies for high customer satisfaction in Ghana and West Africa. Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Create and nurture clear performance goals to create accountability and encourage all team members to be top performers
- Lead and coach a team of sales representatives
- Encourage everyone to have a voice and invite opinions from all members of the team
- Conduct one-on-one coaching and pipeline review sessions with each sales representative to identify opportunities to maximize closed deals
- Lead regular group sessions with the sales team to discuss opportunities to improve performance and introduce changes to products and processes
- Establish strong, long-lasting client relationships to deeply understand clients’ needs
- Establish and track a manageable set of activity and productivity metrics for the sales team
- Partner with Marketing to improve lead generation, inbound/channel support, and conversions
- Provide strategic direction, assist management in developing go-to-market plans, and coordinate internal company resources to meet and exceed revenue goals
- Build a sales pipeline to generate leads and drive organic growth
- Develop and execute a prospecting strategy to source new business opportunities
- Maintain expertise in and positively represent our company and its culture, our products, the EdTech industry, and factors influencing the market environment
- Create and deliver tailored demos and presentations virtually and in-person to key constituents, demonstrating how our products will increase their efficiency and solve their problems
- Prepare proposals, negotiate pricing, and close business
- Use a CRM to track customer-related activities, communication, market data, and critical issues
- Identify and share sales best practices
- Achieve individual activity and revenue goals
Requirements:
- 3-5 years successfully managing a team and meeting or exceeding goals
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance, Economics, or Business Administration, or at least 5 years relevant work experience
- Knowledge of sales principles and best practices
- Proficiency in Office 365, Google suite, web-based presentation tools, & video conference tools
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills via phone, and email
- Consistent and accurate detailed reporting and analysis of plans, accomplishments, and forecasting
- Proven creative problem-solving approach and strong analytical skills
- High emotional intelligence
- Strong leadership skills that include mentoring, negotiation, conflict management, influencing, facilitation, collaboration, and teamwork across all levels of the organization
- Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
- Self-starter
- Willingness to learn and grow
- A positive attitude and aptitude for fun
Preferred Experience or Skills:
- Master’s degree/ Bachelor’s degree with Professional courses
- 5+ years successful high-volume sales or management experience
- B2B sales experience
- B2C sales experience
- Experience working with CRM software
- Prior experience or demonstrated interest in EdTech and/or education or technology
NB: Experiences Selling insurance or financial/ banking products is a plus
