Job Description/Requirements

Job Profile
As part of the company’s local sales team, the Sales Manager will be responsible for:

  • leading and managing a dynamic sales teams and sales/commercial activities
  • driving business growth to exceed performance targets and business growth objectives
  • Implementing sales strategies & tools for sustaining the agency revenue growth and profitability
  • preparing & monitoring sales plans & sales targets, supporting business negotiations, team's performance, and training programs monitoring
  • Ensuring pricing consistency, accurate and timing reports


Responsibilities:

  • Proactively identify new customers, engage new and existing customers for customer base expansion.
  • Conduct sales calls daily for existing and prospective customers with timely input of sales reports and targeted actions plan with the support of internal stakeholders.
  • Chase and drive opportunities turned into prospects to be highlighted for close monitoring for highly profitable customer mix.
  • Drive a continuous improvement and initiatives by building and maintain sustainable relationship with active and inactive customers for business development and augmented customer experience.
  • Monitor and improve customers performance with periodic review with sales teams and direct manager.
  • Identify cost saving measures (within/external) that will generate more revenue for the company with targeted actions.
  • Manage sales quotations, agreements and service requests from customers in coordination with customer service team (accuracy, filing time, timely feedback etc.)
  • Collect and analyze information on market trend/development including new measures that may impact business growth and prepare reports for management.
  • Monitor and ensure conflict resolution in cases of outstanding demurrage, undelivered cargoes, etc.
  • Develop strategies to aid customer service processes to promote prompt cargoes delivery and UCL/debt recovery scheme.
  • Lead and supervise local sales team in delivering business solutions and expected results to support customers satisfaction and business growth.
  • Maintain and develop stable and optimal mix of customers portfolio and cargoes based on profitability targets, volume targets and commodities seasonality for customers retention.
  • Support trade and various relevant stakeholders on commercial strategies and actions and promptly report on market changes, market intelligence, freight level, and others.

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in business administration, transport and logistics or any others related disciplines.
  • Between 6-10years prior experience in similar role.
  • Strong relationship management, analytical and problem-solving and negotiation skills.
  • Good command of written and spoken in English, Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Motivated to generate and increase sales volumes/revenue while delivering top-notch customer care.
  • Good knowledge of Ghana Shipping market.
  • Business acumen, Logical mindset, and good attention to details.
  • Knowledge of Chinese, French and others international languages will be added advantage
