Job Summary

The Sales Manager is to work with the vision of the Company, to be a leading wholesale and Cement manufacturing company in Ghana, and to plan, develop, and oversee all sales and marketing activities. He/she will undertake market research to understand national trends and customer preferences in the Cement sector and create the companies marketing strategy and budgets. The successful Candidate would also oversees the creation of marketing materials and content and performs all other relevant tasks essential for increasing the business’s sales.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Develop the companies medium-term strategic marketing plan and budgets, and oversee its successful implementation and execution
  • Derive the sales function of the companies business model by ensuring that each sales rep achieves his/her monthly target
  • Ensure the growth of sales levels in every quarter
  • Lead the successful design and execution of all the company's marketing and communications products, demonstrating robust insight and professional expertise for the long-term financial growth, sustainability, and impact of the company
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and management of the Sales and marketing function of the company, driving and motivating the sales team to achieve company’s strategic and operational objectives
  • Build strong strategic relationships and partnerships with key retailers, distributors and constructors in the cement / manufacturing sector
  • Research and analyze market trends and competitors, evaluating and assessing the strengths and weaknesses of competitive products and prices by developing comparative statistics and metrics
  • Take leadership of the performance management and evaluation of the strategic marketing plan, including but not limited to assessing the marketing unit’s performance vis-à-vis strategic and business goals
  • Provide hands-on support through fieldwork with the sales and marketing team, travelling widely with the sales and marketing team all across Ghana or in the assigned geographical region
  • Keep abreast of and with cement / manufacturing advertising-specific requirements and guidelines.
  • Coach, develop and train the sales and marketing team to reach the level required to fill the position and prepare the succession plan for key positions.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Any graduate and Marketing diploma is preferred.
  • At least 7 years of Sales & Marketing experience in the Cement or industrial field is a must.
  • Minimum five years’ experience in a managerial capacity
  • Strong ability to collaborate well with other departments to accomplish the targets.
  • Demonstrated and proven sales results
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Able to travel national wise


Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Marketing / Masters from a recognized University


Competencies:

  • The candidate has to be good in communications at all staffing levels and be service- and results-driven.
