The Safety Manager will be responsible for ensuring the safety and health of employees and compliance with safety regulations within an organization.

Job Description/Requirements
Job Responsibilities:
- Creating, implementing, and maintaining workplace safety policies and procedures in line with local regulations and industry standards.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards in the workplace and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensuring that the organization complies with all national safety regulations (e.g., Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) laws in Ghana or relevant international standards).
- Providing safety training for employees to ensure they are aware of and follow safety protocols. Conduct refresher training sessions periodically.
- Investigating accidents and incidents to determine causes and prevent future occurrences. This includes creating reports and recommending improvements.
- Designing and implementing emergency response plans, including fire drills, evacuation plans, and medical response procedures.
- Performing regular inspections of facilities, machinery, and equipment to ensure they meet safety standards.
- Maintaining records of safety inspections, incidents, and compliance reports. Prepare and submit reports to regulatory authorities when necessary.
- Working with other departments (HR, operations, etc.) to maintain a culture of safety throughout the organization.
- Staying updated on new safety regulations, techniques, and best practices and implement them as necessary.
Skills and Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Previous experience in a safety-related role, particularly in industries such as construction, manufacturing, or oil and gas, is often required.
- Ability to assess risks and implement appropriate safety measures.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for training employees and reporting to management.
- Ability to identify potential hazards and ensure that they are adequately addressed.
- Ability to develop effective solutions to complex safety challenges.
- Ability to lead safety initiatives and collaborate with various departments to maintain a safe work environment.
