About The Role
- This is a Fixed Term Position until 31 December 2025*
Join our line marking and spray sealing teams as a Road Worker - Surfacing Delivery and take on a variety of road maintenance tasks using specialised equipment under general supervision. This physically demanding role requires adherence to safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Key requirements include availability for overtime and working away from home when needed. Reimbursement for living away and overtime is at or above award rates, with bed and breakfast provided when working over an hour from the Benalla-based Samaria Road Depot.
While primarily based in Benalla, occasional work across Victoria may be required. Standard hours are 6:00 am to 6:00 pm, with some out-of-hours work as necessary.

As a vital member of the SRS Surfacing Delivery team, your responsibilities include:
- Promoting a safety-focused and inclusive workplace culture.
- Supporting efficient, timely, and quality delivery of spray sealing and line marking services.
- Adhering to the VPS code of conduct and modelling positive behaviours.
- Being available for after-hours emergency responses across Victoria.
- Assisting SRS teams state-wide and contributing to continuous improvement and innovation.
Key Selection Criteria
As part of the SRS Surfacing Delivery team, you’ll promote a safety-focused and inclusive culture, ensure quality delivery of spray sealing and line marking services, and model positive behaviours in line with the VPS code of conduct. You’ll also support state-wide teams, be available for after-hours emergency responses, and drive continuous improvement and innovation.

Qualifications And Experience
Mandatory
- Current Victorian Drivers licence
- Current Medium Rigid truck licence
- Civil Construction Safety Induction Card, Traffic Management Ticket, 1st Aid certificate and HR licence.
- Construction Induction White Card
- Working knowledge of computer tablets / mobile devices.
Desirable
- Certificate III in Civil Construction
- Understanding of Asset Maintenance Management Systems
