About the Roles

• Mechanical/Electrical Engineer (Railways)

Responsible for design, maintenance, repairs, and overseeing mechanical and electrical systems of Railways including; locomotives, DMUs, coaches, freight wagons, etc. 

You will ensure safety, efficiency, and reliability by; 

1. Overseeing maintenance and repairs of the mentioned vehicles and systems including troubleshooting, inspection, and testing of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
2. Work closely with other Engineers, Civil, Signaling, and telecommunication engineers to ensure an integrated Railway System.
3. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
4. Ensure budgeting and cost control maintenance.
5. Conduct technical assessments and provide expert guidance on system integration.

To succeed, you will require the following skills, qualifications, and competencies;

• Bsc /Msc degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, from a recognized University.
• Experience in railway systems engineering
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong knowledge of materials, mechanical systems, and processes
• Familiar with railway specifications and standards
• Knowledge of transport methods, costs, and benefits
• Excellent attention to detail

• Railway Mechanical/Electrical Skilled technician (Artisan)

 Responsible for the maintenance, repairs, and overhauling of Railway Rolling stock and other equipment.

Job description 

• Carry out Maintenance and repairs and overhaul of Rolling stock.
• Inspection and testing of mechanical /Electrical systems. Replacement of worn-out parts and servicing of components including greasing, cleaning, etc
• Servicing and repairing the electric and diesel multiple units and traction units that pull trains.
• Checking and calibrating instruments to make sure they are accurate
• Keep records of maintenance and repair activities. 
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulations

• Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to operate and control equipment
• Good team working skills
• Observation and recording skills.
