We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Purchasing Supervisor to oversee and optimize our procurement activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising the purchasing team, ensuring cost-effective procurement, maintaining supplier relationships, and supporting the company’s operational needs.
Responsibilities
Procurement Management:
- Supervise daily purchasing activities to ensure timely and cost-efficient procurement of goods and services.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet company goals and operational requirements.
- Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels while avoiding stockouts or overstock situations.
Supplier Relationship Management:
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish long-term relationships.
- Conduct supplier performance reviews and ensure adherence to agreed quality, pricing, and delivery standards.
Team Supervision:
- Lead, mentor, and evaluate the purchasing team to ensure high performance and alignment with company objectives.
- Provide training to team members to enhance their skills in procurement practices.
Cost Optimization:
- Analyse purchasing data to identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend measures to reduce expenses.
- Ensure compliance with budget constraints and provide regular updates on purchasing activities.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure all procurement activities adhere to company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including purchase orders, invoices, and supplier agreements.
Collaboration and Reporting:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, finance, and logistics, to align procurement with organizational needs.
- Prepare and present regular reports on purchasing activities, costs, and supplier performance to senior management.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in procurement, with at least 2 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of procurement software and inventory management systems.
- Ability to analyse data, manage budgets, and make data-driven decisions.
- Familiarity with local and international procurement regulations.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
