Job Description/Requirements
A position has become available for Pumps Services Technical Support, based in Ghana.
We are seeking a Pumps Services Technical Support specialist to join our Pumps business line. You will be responsible to provide advisory services and support to Metso distribution partners, local Metso teams, and end users of slurry pumps, hydrocyclones, and other related Metso equipment. In this position, you will be part of the global Pumps Business Line.
TEAM YOU WILL BELONG TO
You will join a global team of pumps and slurry handling experts focused on delivering high-quality technical support and solutions to customers in the minning and aggregrates industries. The functionality of this position is focused on safety, customer service, and customer satisfaction. This position ensures the highest level of service-related support is available to our internal and external customers. Serivce support includes, but is not limited to, field service support activities suchs as service training, warranty evaluation, technical troubleshooting analysis, recommending solutions, and start up and commissioning advisory services.
Preferred locations are the Metso offices in Ghana or South Africa, but the location can
be flexible within Africa. This position requires 50% or more travel to Metso and customer
sites throughout Africa.
What You’ll Do
- Provide remote and in-person advisory services to Market Area teams and distributors for pump failures, poor pump performance, warranties, repairs, commissioning, start-up, performance checks, and trials.
- Gather details from Market Area and/or customer to coordinate with engineering teams or Product Management as needed.
- Provide technical reports with analysis and recommendations.
- Coordinate activities with factory for responding to support requests and unresolved warranty claims.
- Develop field services training for slurry pumps, hydrocyclones, and related equipment.
- Develop and maintain formal documents (checklists, work procedures, etc.) for commissioning, start-up, performance checks, trials, troubleshooting, warranty inspections and training.
- Deliver field services training – virtually and in person

In this position, you will report directly to the Technical Support and Warranty Manager – CNSPUM Services.

Who You Are
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Higher National Diploma /B Tech / BSc in Mechanical Engineering or related course.
- 2 or more years of experience with either the selection/sizing, assembly, operation, or maintenance of centrifugal pumps is preferred.
- 2 or more years of experience with direct customer interaction related to industrial equipment field service or technical support
- Advanced verbal and writing skills
- Computer literacy and MS Office Skills are an inherent requirement
