Job Summary
We seek a competent and experienced quantity surveyor to join our team at Greycrest Construction. You will be responsible for overseeing the financial and contractual aspects of construction projects, including cost planning, procurement, contract administration, and risk management. As a vital team member, you will work closely with architects, engineers, contractors and other professionals to manage project costs and ensure it is completed within the stipulated budget. Job Description/Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead on cost estimation, budget development and assist with feasibility studies for new projects.
- Collaborate with the design team to find cost-effective solutions that maintain quality while adhering to budget constraints.
- Lead on preparation of tender documents, ensuring they reflect accurate project specifications and requirements.
- Assist in evaluating bids from contractors, analyzing their financial stability and previous experience to recommend suitable candidates.
- Monitor project expenses against the budget, identifying variances and suggest corrective measures as needed.
- Prepare or validate, as required, interim valuations for work completed to date, facilitating timely payments to contractors and subcontractors.
- Assess and advise on the financial impact of design changes or delays.
- Prepare final accounts that detail all expenses incurred during the project, comparing them against the original budget.
- Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions related to the project, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Provide regular updates to management on budget status, potential risks, and overall financial health of projects.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Building Technology and Quantity Surveying.
- Professional membership with the Ghana Institute of Surveyors.
- 3-5 years of experience working as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably in the construction or real estate sector.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts and relevant legal frameworks.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills, with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work under tight deadlines.
- Understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
- Frequent visits to construction sites to monitor progress and costs.
