Job Description/Requirements


The Successful Candidate Should Have Knowledge and Experience in:

  • The local governance system, processes, and popular participation.
  • Advocacy and influencing policy change in the areas of Health, Education, WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), Fisheries, and Agriculture, using Social and Behavioral Change Communication (SBCC) approaches.
  • Linking communities, particularly citizen groups, to engage with duty bearers and service providers.
  • Facilitating discussions, advocating for change, reporting on progress, and delivering measurable outcomes.



Required Qualifications and Experience:

To qualify for this position, an applicant must have:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field such as Local Governance, Development Studies, Economics, Social Work, Community Development, or Public Health.
  • At least three years of experience in social work, community work, or NGO operations.
  • Excellent communication, reporting, and presentation skills in English.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and influence local governments and allied institutions, particularly in Health, Education, WASH, Fisheries, and Agriculture sectors.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and strategic planning skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc).
  • Fluency in Ewe is required; proficiency in the dominant local language or dialect of the project area (South Tongu and Adaklu districts) is an added advantage.
  • Outstanding facilitation, writing skills, and a team-oriented attitude.
  • Willingness to learn and adhere to safeguarding policies.
  • A commitment to gender equality and the well-being of women and persons with disabilities.
  • A non-partisan disposition with excellent language and communication skills.


Duty Post: The Project Officer must be willing to reside in Ho or within the project districts, ensuring regular interaction with local communities and authorities.


Reporting Line: The Project Officer will report directly to the Program Manager in Ho.
