Job Summary

Sanford Health is seeking a Project Coordinator/Technical Advisor who represents Sanford Health in the IHP Partnership and is embedded in the Project HOPE Management Team comprised of the key partners to support the implementation of the NOP. The Project Coordinator/Technical Advisor will act as a bridge between Sanford Health and the IHP and will report to the Vice President (SH-Ghana). The Project Coordinator/Technical Advisor plays a crucial role in supporting the implementation of NOP Strategies and Action Plans aligned with the higher-level impact desired by USAID. The primary objective for the role is to facilitate the identification and integration of private pharmacies in the NOPs, develop relevant protocol and oversee activities of regional coordinators. The Project Coordinator/Technical Advisor will liaise with, guide, and ensure that the project’s implementation is aligned with its approved workplan and budget, and meets targets for achievement while providing high-quality technical assistance to the IHP.

Job Description/Requirements

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive work plan outlining goals, objectives, activities, and timelines for Sanford Health’s component of the NOP implementation.
  • Monitor region/district NOP-specific priorities and implementation progress, providing ongoing support and guidance as needed.
  • Provide technical inputs to IHP to ensure review, inputs, feedback and approvals/alignment with key stakeholders’ project issues, deliverable progress, and results for the success of the project.
  • Provide technical inputs to Sanford staff, NOP staff at regional and district levels as well as stakeholders for efficient capacity building and operational support activities.
  • Support to build capacity of national and regional and district actors by providing input in the project design, planning and implementation and monitoring activities including assisting with hiring of SH Regional Coordinators and Field Officers
  • Works closely with the national, regional and district actors in the NOP and ensure their inclusion during each stage of the project implementation
  • Help ensure that regional health authorities play a key role in the implementation processes which should be well documented
  • Maintain regular communication with Project Management Team to ensure alignment with other ongoing activities.
  • Provide periodic reports and feedback on project updates to Sanford Health (Ghana and US) team.
  • Maintain regular communication with the SH Project Manager and SH Regional Representatives by providing updates on progress, challenges, and achievements.
  • Prepare periodic reports on the status of implementation, including key milestones, lessons learned, and recommendations for improvement
  • Prepare quarterly progress reports as required in accordance with approved formats by Project Hope/USAID.
  • Actively interact with other Project Coordinators and the NOP communities to share case studies, lessons learned and best practice on the Knowledge System.
  • Provide feedback to Project Team and Key Stakeholders on policy, supporting guidance with an aim towards continuous improvement of relevant policies and protocols.
  • Ensure that lessons learnt from the project implementation are documented and incorporated in project improvement plans as appropriate.
  • Provide inputs to embed sustainability dimensions including social and economic aspects into project life cycle.
  • Advise the both SH and Project Teams of any deviations from the project plan.
  • Through the SH Project Manager and Regional Representatives, provide support, monitor and evaluate performance of NOP service providers
  • Any other responsibilities that may be assigned by the Project Management Team.


Education/Experience:

  • At least ten (10) years of progressive experience in project management and health systems strengthening, facilitation, stakeholder engagement or other relevant areas is required.
  • Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) preferably in a health-related field.
  • Previous experience working for regional or international organizations especially in Ghana will be an advantage.
  • Proven track record of working with government institutions especially within the health sector and international partners is desirable.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to act as a bridge and mobilize support across diverse stakeholders is desirable.
  • Applicants with Pharmacy background stand a greater chance





Location: (Greater Accra)

Employment Type: Contract for 2 Year (Renewable)
