Job Description/Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing plans for the purchase of equipment, services, and supplies.
  • Following and enforcing the company's procurement policies and procedures.
  • Reviewing, comparing, analyzing, and recommending the right vendor for products and services
  • Maintaining and updating supplier information, qualifications, delivery times, product ranges, etc.
  • Maintaining good supplier relations and negotiating contracts.
  • Checking on promotional activities of suppliers and advising the company to leverage the promotions to save cost.
  • Researching and evaluating prospective suppliers.
  • Preparing budgets, cost analyses, and reports.
  • Issuing Purchasing request (PR) and purchasing orders (PO’s).
  • Queries all invoices presented for processing and payments.
  • Operate and support other employees to operate in accordance with health, safety and environmental policies and procedures
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of and support mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards and the code of ethical behavior.
  • Understand and clarify tender/bid conditions and get all suppliers fully appraised and involved
  • Determine the goods or services required.
  • Outline the project’s scope and requirements.
  • Secure budget approval for the project/request
  • Issue invitation to Tender
  • Publicize the tender to attract potential suppliers.
  • Provide detailed tender documents to interested suppliers.
  • Collect bids from suppliers by the specified deadline
  • Confirm receipt of all submitted bids.
  • Evaluate bids based on technical criteria such as experience, qualifications, and compliance with suppliers’ requirements
  • Assess the financial aspects of the bids, including cost, payment terms, and financial stability.
  • Choose the supplier that offers the best value based on the evaluation.
  • Finalize and sign the contract with the selected supplier.


Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environment

It is the responsibility of all staffs to become familiar with and remain compliant with all the quality, occupational health, safety, security and environment rules and regulations applicable to the Company.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To cultivate and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Monitor and advise on all QHSE matters, issues and concerns to ensure Company compliance with statutory requirements, Company and contractual requirements and good industry practice.
  • Identify and correct unsafe work practices or conditions before accident occur, through regular inspection and fostering the safety attitude among the workforces.
  • Ensure that you are not under the influence of any intoxicant to the extent that it could be a danger to you or others while at work.
  • Not engage in any improper conduct that could endanger your own safety and health or that of anyone else
  • Assist in conducting planned inspection & audits using checklist periodically, aimed at evaluating compliance with standards and checking the state of safety of all equipment
  • Assist in ensuring that all the statutory requirements that have a bearing on occupational health, Safety and environment are adhered to
  • Participate in all inspections and inquiries by the QHSSE department where required.
  • Assist in conducting risk assessment of the terminal activities and ensure that all significant risks identified from the risk assessment as well as all other sources, such as audit reports, are captured and that appropriate corrective actions are planned and implemented
  • Assist in conducting investigations where required into the causes of all accidents, recommending, and enforcing the implementation of remedial measures to prevent recurrence.
  • Ensure compliance in conducting periodic planned job observations and planned inspections on various categories of the workforce and related terminal plant / equipment infrastructure to enhance safe work practices
  • Participate in periodic on-the-job training for workers to heighten their safety awareness to ensure they carry out their tasks in a safe manner
  • Wearing appropriate PPE’s and also assist in ensuring that PPE’s supplied to workforce are worn and enforce their use where necessary
  • Attend, participate and / or facilitate safety meetings including Safety Committee meetings and Toolbox Meetings.
  • Make proper use of all machinery, tools, substances and of all Personal Protective Equipment provided for use at work.
  • Ensure you do not litter or pollute the environment by disposing of all wastes generated safely by using appropriate waste bins provided.
  • Report any hazards, illness, injuries, defects in the place of work, equipment or working systems which might endanger safety and health to your supervisor.
  • Respond to alarms and react in a timely manner.
  • Report any suspicious behaviors and happenings to the QHSSE Manager.


Person – Essential Requirements:

Education/Qualifications

  • Degree in accounting, business management or a similar field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience as a Procurement Officer or in a similar position.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement software
