We are a state institution within Ghana’s precious mineral trade sector, mandated to oversee, regulate, and undertake the trading, assay and export of gold, promote value addition to the country's gold resources, support the accumulation of gold reserves, and generate foreign exchange for the country.

Title: Principal Officer, Research & Innovation

Reports To: Head, Research & Innovation



Job Summary:Supports the Head of Unit in driving the organisation’s research and innovation agenda, with a focus on sectoral intelligence, evidence-based decision-making, and the development of new tools, processes, and policies that enhance the gold sector’s competitiveness and integrity.



Key Responsibilities:



• Conduct research on industry trends, regulatory developments, and innovation opportunities across the gold value chain.

• Develop policy briefs, technical papers, and reports to inform strategic decision-making.

• Support innovation projects and pilots aimed at improving transparency, traceability, and efficiency in gold production and trade.

• Collaborate with academia, think tanks, and development partners on joint research initiatives.

• Track global best practices and advise on their application to national or institutional contexts.



Qualification Required & Experience



Skills and Qualification Requirement:



• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Public Policy, Development Studies, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.

• Minimum of seven (7) years’ relevant experience in research, innovation management, or policy development.

• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in research design, data analysis, and report writing.

• Knowledge of the extractives sector, sustainability frameworks, and innovation systems.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills with a high standard of integrity.
