Payroll Officer (shared Services)

Job Overview:

We are looking for a highly motivated Payroll Officer to support payroll processing and HR operations in one of the following countries: Ghana, Nigeria, or Cameroon. This role will ensure the timeliness, accuracy, and compliance of monthly payroll processes while maintaining key operational reports and supporting regional compliance. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive team-oriented mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Payroll Processing & Coordination:

• Manage and execute payroll activities in one of the assigned countries (Ghana, Nigeria, or Cameroon).
• Ensure payroll processing is timely, accurate, and compliant with local labor and tax regulations.

1. HR Reporting & Data Support:

• Maintain standardized personnel operation reports to support upstream and downstream HR functions.
• Provide data insights to support management decisions and improve operational efficiency.

1. Compliance & Regulatory Monitoring:

• Stay updated on labor laws, tax regulations, and employment legislation in the assigned country.
• Ensure payroll and HR operations adhere to all relevant local regulations and compliance standards.

1. Cross-Regional Collaboration & Support:

• Assist team members with payroll-related queries and support cross-country payroll collaboration.
• Coordinate effectively within the shared services team to ensure consistent service delivery.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or above; any major is acceptable, but a background in Human Resources is preferred.
• Proven experience in payroll management, with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and payroll tools.
• Familiar with HR policies, shared services procedures, and SOPs; understanding of labor laws in Ghana, Nigeria, or Cameroon is required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; French is a strong plus.
• High level of responsibility, team spirit, and customer-oriented mindset.
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to execute tasks efficiently and systematically.
