Key Responsibilities:
Menu Development and Preparation:
- Design and execute a variety of desserts, pastries, and baked goods.
- Collaborate with the executive chef to develop seasonal and innovative dessert menus.
Quality Control:
- Ensure all items meet quality, taste, and presentation standards.
- Conduct regular testing of recipes for consistency and improvement.
Team Leadership:
- Train and supervise pastry staff.
- Delegate tasks efficiently to ensure smooth operations in the pastry section.
Inventory Management:
- Monitor stock levels for ingredients and supplies.
- Order fresh and high-quality ingredients while managing costs.
Hygiene and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
- Maintain cleanliness in the pastry section.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Education and Training:
- Culinary degree or specialized training in pastry arts.
Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in a pastry chef role.
Skills:
- Expertise in baking techniques and dessert creation.
- Strong creativity and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage and mentor a team.
