Job Summary

We seek an experienced and innovative Online Marketing Strategist to lead our supermarket chain’s digital marketing efforts. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the grocery retail landscape and strong expertise in digital marketing strategies. You will be responsible for developing and executing online marketing campaigns that drive customer engagement, increase foot traffic to our stores, and boost e-commerce sales. This role requires creative thinking, data-driven analysis, and a hands-on approach to campaign management.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

Strategy Development:

  • Design and implement comprehensive online marketing strategies tailored to the supermarket industry.
  • Identify key customer segments, including families, health-conscious consumers, and budget shoppers, and create targeted digital campaigns.
  • Stay current with industry trends, competitive landscape, and best practices to ensure our supermarket chain remains at the forefront of digital marketing.


E-Commerce Marketing:

  • Drive online sales by optimizing our e-commerce platform, including promotions, SEO, and user experience enhancements.
  • Develop strategies to increase the adoption of online grocery shopping, including home delivery services.
  • Implement personalized marketing campaigns based on customer purchase history and preferences.


Content Strategy:

  • Collaborate with content creators to develop engaging, informative, and SEO- optimized content, including blogs, recipes, meal planning tips, and promotions.
  • Ensure content aligns with seasonal promotions, new product launches, and overall brand messaging.


Social Media Management:

  • Develop and execute social media strategies to promote weekly deals, seasonal offers, and community engagement.
  • Utilize social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter to build brand loyalty and increase customer engagement.
  • Monitor social media trends and customer feedback to adapt strategies and improve brand presence.


Local SEO and SEM:

  • Optimize local SEO efforts to ensure our supermarket locations appear prominently in search results.
  • Manage paid search campaigns to drive traffic to our website and physical stores, ensuring high visibility during key shopping periods like holidays and promotions.


Email Marketing:

  • Develop and manage targeted email marketing campaigns, including weekly flyers, personalized offers, and loyalty program updates.
  • Utilize segmentation and A/B testing to improve open rates, click-through rates, and overall campaign effectiveness.


Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Analyze online marketing performance, including website traffic, conversion rates, and customer behavior using tools like Google Analytics and CRM systems.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on campaign performance, KPIs, and actionable insights to the marketing team and senior management.
  • Use data-driven insights to continuously refine marketing strategies and improve ROI.


Collaboration and Coordination:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including in-store marketing, merchandising, and IT, to ensure cohesive marketing efforts across all channels.
  • Coordinate with external agencies or vendors for specialized services such as paid media, influencer partnerships, and digital advertising.


Budget Management:

  • Develop and manage the digital marketing budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
  • Allocate budget across various digital channels to maximize reach and impact, especially during peak shopping seasons.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an Online Marketing Strategist, preferably within the retail or supermarket industry.
  • Strong knowledge of digital marketing channels, including SEO, SEM, social media, email marketing, and content marketing.
  • Experience with e-commerce platforms, especially in a grocery retail context.
  • Proficiency with digital marketing tools and platforms such as Google Analytics, Google Ads, Facebook Ads Manager, and email marketing tools.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross- functionally.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Marketing or a related field.
  • Experience in the supermarket or retail industry.
  • Certifications in Google Analytics, Google Ads, or similar.
  • Familiarity with customer loyalty programs and CRM systems.


Working Conditions:

  • Flexible working hours, particularly during significant campaigns or holiday seasons, may be required.
