Role Purpose
Plans and optimizes microwave transmission systems, manages the
capacity of the microwave and access networks (fibre and microwave), and ensures the
effective and efficient delivery of these resources to support business operations.
Key Accountabilities And Decision Ownership
Drive MW TX Network Design related activities, incl. but not limited to: Include link budgets analysis, Initial system design and dimensioning, System dimensioning for coverage and capacity including traffic E2E backhaul analysis,
Coverage sites backhaul planning, site identification, evaluation, NW planning, interference analysis and optimization using MW Planning tool(s).
Backhaul planning and TX analysis for Coverage and capacity sites,
Proposal for required backhaul capacity and existing link capacity upgrades or enhancement,
Network optimization to meet the acceptance target.
Provide Transmission network strategic and architecture planning, ensuring robustness, scalability, interoperability, and appropriate technology
Managing all capacities on both MW and Optical nodes on the Telecel Network.
Engagement with Operations and Managed Services teams to plan and coordinate common activities and develop synergies leading towards common goals
Providing Half Year Microwave Utilization report and review to the regulator
Co-ordinate pro-actively with Internal and external stake holders
Spearheads the Transmission Infrastructure Strategy for microwave, lease lines, and inputs into the fibre
infrastructure
Core Competencies, Knowledge And Experience
Extensive work experience in transmission designing and operation of the following Networks: Optical, Microwave, DCN, Sync, Quality of Service (QoS), TX Audit and optimizing RAN backhaul capacity Tx Design delivery
Good hands-on experience on Microwave NW Design Tools, Transmission Products, and Solutions which are used to backhaul the following technologies GSM, WCDMA
and LTE.
Good understanding of advanced and complex radio networks to be able to assist with advanced optimization and creative design solutions.
Knowledge in transmission capacity management.
Knowledge in transmission optical technologies.
GSM/LTE/WDM/SDH/PDH/IP/SDN Network Planning Principles Strong understanding of the ITU standards and recommendations and technological trends
Must Have Technical / Professional Qualifications
BSc Electrical / Electronic / Computer Engineering
Minimum of 4 years of relevant hands-on experience in a similar role
