The role involves supervising, coordinating, and managing the activities of Microfinance Officers to ensure effective service delivery, customer satisfaction, and quality growth of the microfinance portfolio.

Job Description/Requirements

The successful candidate will:

  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve the bank’s microfinance objectives.
  • Supervise and provide leadership to all Microfinance Officers, ensuring alignment with the bank’s goals.
  • Monitor the performance of the microfinance portfolio and take corrective actions to minimize defaults.
  • Oversee the disbursement and recovery of microfinance loans in compliance with the bank’s policies.
  • Conduct regular field visits to assess the activities of microfinance teams and provide on-site support.
  • Develop training programs to enhance the capacity and skills of Microfinance Officers.
  • Collaborate with Microfinance Officers to ensure seamless service delivery to microfinance clients.
  • Prepare and present regular performance reports to management.
  • Engage with community leaders and stakeholders to promote the bank’s microfinance initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls in all microfinance operations.


Qualifications & Experiences Required:

  • A bachelor's degree in Banking, Finance, Economics, Community Development or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in microfinance, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Familiarity with rural banking and financial inclusion practices.


Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of microfinance operations, policies, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and portfolio management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
