Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Mechanical Engineer – Product Design to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and improving mechanical and structural products from concept to production/fabrication. This role requires expertise in CAD modeling, material selection, prototyping, fabrication and testing to ensure optimal performance, cost-effectiveness, and manufacturability.

Job Description/Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Product Design & Development
- Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, or Fusion 360).
Concept to Production
- Take ideas from sketches and prototypes to manufacturing-ready designs.
Engineering Analysis
- Perform structural, thermal, and tolerance analysis using FEA, CFD, and hand calculations.
Material and Manufacturing Selection
- Choose appropriate materials and processes (e.g., machining, 3D printing, fabrication).
Prototyping & Testing:
- Develop prototypes, conduct testing, and refine designs based on test results.
Collaboration
- Work with cross-functional teams (electrical engineers, software engineers, manufacturing, and suppliers) to optimize product performance.
Documentation and Compliance
- Create and maintain engineering drawings, bill of materials, and technical documentation while ensuring compliance with industry standards (ASME, ISO, ASTM, etc.).
Cost and Quality Optimization
- Ensure designs are cost-efficient, durable, and meet quality standards.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify and implement design improvements and innovation opportunities.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field.
- Two - three years of experience in mechanical product design and development.
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, Fusion 360, Tekla structures).
- Experience in FEA/CFD tools (ANSYS, CFD).
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes (CNC machining, fabrication, 3D printing).
- Familiarity with GD& T, DFM/DFA principles, and industry standards.
- Hands-on experience with prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of PLM and PDM systems is a plus.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in consumer products, robotics, fabrication.
- Knowledge of sustainability and material lifecycle analysis.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and innovative environment.
