Job Description/Requirements
The Market Developer is responsible for selling cement bags through the retail channel across a particular Region. The market developer must develop and grow an active base of cement retailers either operating out of their own shops or containers.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Sales Volume Aggregation:
• Aggregates sales volumes from various retailers for Sales Representatives to order and deliver through distributors efficiently.
Retailer Visits:
• Visits all retailers within the assigned territory regularly to strengthen relationships, gather feedback, and address any concerns.
Monthly Sales Target Achievement:
• Achieves the specified target number of bags sold monthly through the retail channel.
• Implement effective sales techniques to meet or exceed sales goals.
Customer Satisfaction:
• Maintains high levels of customer satisfaction among distributors and retailers by promptly addressing their needs and resolving any issues.
Retailer Development:
• Develops and manages a target number of retailers that consistently purchase a minimum of 900 bags of cement monthly.
• Provide support and incentives to encourage retailers to meet the set purchasing target.
Price Management:
• Ensures the retail price per bag of cement remains within the target range.
• Monitors market conditions and competitors' pricing to make informed pricing decisions.
Market Analysis and Reporting:
• Supplies management with timely reports on competitive activities, market trends, and potential opportunities for new products and services.
• Provides insights and recommendations to support decision-making.
Shop Attendant Training:
• Trains shop attendants on cement products and basic bookkeeping to enhance their product knowledge and improve sales effectiveness.
Product Availability:
• Ensures cement availability in the assigned circuit to meet customer demands promptly.
• Collaborate with distributors and supply chain teams to maintain optimal inventory levels.
Marketing Collaboration and Execution:
• Collaborates with the marketing team to develop marketing strategies and support their execution in the assigned region.
• Provides feedback on the effectiveness of marketing initiatives and suggest improvements.
Performs other duties as may be assigned
Key Requirements
Academic/Professional Qualifications and Work Experience
• A minimum of a Degree in Marketing, Business Administration or a related field from a recognized university.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience as a Market Developer, or similar role
