Job Summary

The Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial records of FH Depot. This role involves ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and effective financial management to support the business's operational goals.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to management.


Accounts Payable and Receivable

  • Manage the accounts payable process, including invoice verification, payment processing, and vendor reconciliation
  • Oversee accounts receivable, ensuring timely invoicing, collections, and customer account reconciliation.


Budgeting and Forecasting

  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.


General Ledger Management:

  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure the accuracy of all financial transactions.
  • Perform regular reconciliations of bank accounts, credit card statements, and other balance sheet accounts.


Compliance and Audit

  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and prepare necessary documentation for audits.


Inventory Management

  • Oversee inventory accounting, including tracking inventory levels, cost of goods sold, and inventory valuation.
  • Work with the operations team to ensure accurate inventory records.


Payroll Processing

  • Assist in payroll processing and ensure accurate and timely disbursement of employee salaries.
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.


Financial Analysis:

  • Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions, including cost analysis, profitability analysis, and financial performance metrics.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.


Systems and Controls

  • Implement and maintain robust financial systems and internal controls.
  • Assist in the selection and implementation of accounting software and other financial tools.


Ad Hoc Projects

Participate in special projects as required, including process improvement initiatives, system upgrades, and financial planning projects.

  • Any other duty assigned by Management


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • ACCA/ ICA or relevant professional certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a distribution or FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) environment
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.


Working Conditions

  • Full-time position.
  • Office environment with occasional travel to other distribution centers or other company locations as needed.




LOCATION: HAATSO , ASHONGMAN, MADINA, ADENTA, DOME, ACHIMOTA AND ENVIRONS.

SALARY:GHC 3000.00 TO GHC 3500.00
