Job Description/Requirements
Metrics/Expected Outputs:
- Completion of monthly checklist
- Stockouts of cleaning product, consumables
- Cleanliness of facility, accommodation
Responsibilities in the first month:
Checklists and Processes:
- Cleaning checklists
- Opening/Closing procedures
- SOPs for cleaning, fumigation, pest management, fridge/freezer management, washing vegetables
- Food Safety
- Inventory management
- Shopping
- Receiving
- Washing bay and reorganizing
- Orientation on facility and equipment
Other Duties:
- Basic cleaning
- Laundry/washing machine
- Ironing
- Organizing of facility and accommodation
- Inventory management
- Opening/Closing procedures
- Prepping fruits and vegetables
Communications:
- Communicating with supervisor, founder, HR In the second month you will add the following:
Checklists and Processes:
- Update cleaning checklists
- Add any outstanding SOPs for key tasks
Additional Duties
- Shopping
- Light food prep: vinaigrettes, beverages,
- Managing food inventory of founder
- Reading recipes, measuring
Communications
Communicating with vendors for repairs In the third month you will also do the following:
- Fumigation preparations and clean up
- Food production, planning + shopping list
- Table set up and reset
Job Responsibilities:
- Cleaning: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, boys’ quarters, and bathrooms to ensure a hygienic and safe environment.
- Inventory management: Assist with receiving, storing, and organizing supplies and ingredients.
- Food safety and hygiene compliance: Ensure all food safety and hygiene protocols are followed consistently.
- Support meal preparation and service: Help chefs and cooks during meal prep and service, ensuring timely delivery and presentation.
- Assist with food preparation: Chop, measure, and organize ingredients for daily production and dining events.
- Event support: Set up and break down dining areas for events, maintaining cleanliness and readiness. Mentorship opportunities: Open to learning additional skills like food production planning, ingredient sourcing, and basic kitchen management.
Required Qualifications:
- SHS certificate or equivalent
- Possess reading and writing skills
- Proven experience in similar role
- Able to use a variety of cleaning products and equipment
- Excellent organizational skills
- Able to complete tasks on time with minimal supervision
- Be able to communicate and understand the predominant languages of Midunu—English (ability to communicate in Twi and other local languages a plus).
- Be able to reach, bend, stoop, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to communicate clearly with managers and kitchen personnel
- Driven and hard-working
- Ability to take direction and multi-task
- Must be comfortable following detailed SOPs, managing inventory, and use checklist
- Must be detail-oriented
- Must have or be cleared for food handler’s certificate
- Ability to to repetitive tasks quickly and accurately
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time (8 hrs)
Desired Knowledge and Skills:
- Previous safe food handling training is a plus.
- An interest in building a career with Midunu is a plus.

Focused, positive attitude and desire to work with and help grow an artisanal chocolatier The Kitchen Assistant is required to wear appropriate gear such as non-slip kitchen shoes, sleeved shirts, trousers, and head coverings. Masks and aprons will be provided. The Kitchen Assistant is required to exercise good hygiene and pass a food safety medical screening. Fingernails must be kept clean, and short enough not to break nitrile gloves. Frequent hand washing and glove changing is critical for the health and safety of the team and our customers.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay:
- 800-1000 GHS Based on experience
- All statutory payments to GRA and SSNIT will be applied

Schedule:
- 5 days a week, Monday – Friday
- Working hours start from 6 am and includes a responsibility allowance
- Seasonal and occasional events may result in work on weekends. Prior notice will be provided and overtime paid.
