About HAT AgriTech Ltd
HAT AgriTech Ltd. provides agricultural inputs and extension services to boost crop production and sales for smallholder and commercial farmers. We offer crop protection, mobile plant health clinics, app-based and in-person extension services, and support farmer-based organizations (FBOs) with training in climate-smart agriculture, postharvest management, biochar and composting production. HAT is implementing a project aimed at transforming agricultural waste into valuable products in Ghana's Western, Greater Accra, and Northern Regions. Waste such as coconut shells, rice husks, groundnut shells and cocoa pods will be converted into biochar, wood vinegar and biochar-based fertilizers under this project.
Job Summary:
We are seeking experienced Production Managers to oversee our factory site in Asutuare. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the production of biochar, various biochar fertilizer blends and wood vinegar, ensuring environmental sustainability and leading a team of factory hands.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage the carbonisation furnace on the main factory floor
• Oversee the mini biochar machines set up in the locality to create jobs for communities
• Oversee the Demo farms in the communities
• Ensure all Environmental and Health and Safety standards are adhered to
• Produce high-quality Biochar, various biochar fertilizer blends, and wood vinegar
• Manage a team of factory hands at the main factory
• Implement efficient production processes and maintain high standards of quality control
• Monitor and report on production metrics, including yield, quality, and safety
• Collaborate with the Project Manager to achieve project goals and objectives
• Any other duties that may be assigned by the Project Manager
Qualification Required & Experience
Requirements:
• HND or higher degree in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, agriculture, environmental science)
• Working experience in a biochar or compost production or manufacturing setting is desirable
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to relate well with locals and work effectively in a rural setting
• Ability to work without supervision and take initiative
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in biochar production or a related field
• Knowledge of environmental sustainability and conservation practices
• Experience in team management and leadership
