Job Title:
IT Systems and Security Administrator/On-site
Reports to: CTO
Job Summary:
The IT Systems and Security Administrator will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the organization's IT infrastructure while ensuring its security and compliance with best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Systems Administration:
-Install, configure, and maintain servers, networks, and storage systems.
-Monitor and manage system performance, availability, and reliability.
-Perform system updates, patch management, and backups.
-Configure and troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
-Manage cloud-based systems (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and hybrid environments.
Security Management:
-Develop, implement, and maintain IT security policies and procedures.
-Perform regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
-Configure firewalls, antivirus programs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS).
-Monitor security logs, respond to incidents, and mitigate risks.
-Manage identity and access controls, including multi-factor authentication (MFA).
-Implement and maintain data loss prevention (DLP) systems.
Network Administration:
-Maintain LAN/WAN infrastructure, including VPN and wireless networks.
-Troubleshoot connectivity issues and optimize network performance.
-Ensure network redundancy and uptime through failover mechanisms.
Compliance and Audit:
-Ensure compliance with industry regulations (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001, PCI DSS).
-Conduct internal IT audits and prepare documentation for external audits.
Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity:
-Develop and test disaster recovery plans (DRP) and business continuity plans (BCP).
-Implement backup solutions and ensure data restoration processes are -functional.
User Support and Training:
-Provide technical support to end-users for system and security issues.
-Conduct security awareness training sessions for employees.
Key Skills:
-Strong knowledge of operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux).
-Expertise in networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs).
-Proficiency in cybersecurity tools (firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, encryption).
-Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
-Cloud computing skills (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud).
-Scripting and automation knowledge (PowerShell, Python, or Bash).
-Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
-Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Certifications such as:
-Security: CISSP, CISM, CEH, CompTIA Security+
-Systems: Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
-Networking: CCNA, CCNP
-Proven experience (3–5 years) in systems administration and IT security.
