IT Support Officer

General Description:

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the host computers by monitoring system performance, configuration, maintenance and repair.
• Ensure that records of system downtime and equipment inventory are properly maintained.
• Apply revisions to host system firmware and software.
• Works with vendors to assist support activities.
• Recons on savings, investments and lending products to ensure accurate reporting on interest income and interest expense.
• Perform troubleshooting as required. Work directly with IT personnel and business teams to resolve issues identified and escalated during daily operations and supervises operations staff including training and evaluation.
• Manages the data center and computer host systems including hardware, software and equipment such as air-conditioning system, UPS (uninterrupted power system) and fire protection system.
• Configure and support VLAN, VPN and Remote Access Technologies.
• Enforce guidelines/principles/policies for the operation of the network services and provide secure, reliable, and efficient LAN/WLAN/WAN services
• Ensure efficient network management and monitoring using a range of network management suites.
• Configuration and maintenance of CCTV infrastructure.
• VOIP Technology setup and support (e.g. grand stream, 3cx, etc.)

QUALIFICATION REQUIRED & EXPERIENCE:

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Required Bachelor’s degree in the area of Computer Information Systems, Management information Systems, Computer Science or Technical related field.
• Systems, Management information Systems, Computer Science or Technical related field.
• At least 3 years’ hands on experience in managing large databases, SQL server system administration, in complex systems design, programming and systems software and support.
• Experience in jBase, SQL running on Linux and Windows platforms will be added advantage
• Certification - SQL Server Administration
• Attention to detail, analytical skills and ability to research and apply problem solving skills.
• Excellent communication, customer focus and interpersonal relations skills
• Knowledge of Banking business operations in preferred
• Ability to: Plan, organize and document complex system design activities and to configure systems to be consistent with institutional policies / procedures, communicate technical / complex information both verbally and in writing, establish and maintain cooperation understanding, trust and credibility, perform multiple task concurrently and respond to emergency situations effectively
• Knowledge of and experience in: Programming Languages and operating systems, current equipment and technologies in use; Unix and Windows system administration, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, and system performance monitoring tools, principles and practices of effective management and supervision
