Job Summary

FAWE Ghana seeks to recruit a passionate and qualified IT Officer to support and maintain technology infrastructure and assist in managing FAWE Ghana’s IT systems and processes by implementing ICT tools to support office operations, projects, and programs. The individual is pivotal in helping the FAWEGH's mission by leveraging technology to enhance operational efficiency and facilitate educational initiatives.

Job Description/Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage procurement processes for IT assets, ensuring alignment with budget and organizational needs.
  • Collaborate with other departments for effective asset planning for IT system needs.
  • Collaborate with the communication and advocacy office for regular updates of the FAWEGH website.
  • Maintain user databases and ensure timely submission of reports related to application usage.
  • Assist users with hardware and software issues, including troubleshooting and resolving technical problems related to computer systems, networks, and peripherals.
  • Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software systems according to FAWE Ghana policies.
  • Perform routine inspections and updates to ensure optimal performance of IT systems.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues. This includes performing root cause analysis of complex problems.
  • Maintain records of system configurations, user accounts, and technical procedures. Develop user guides and training materials for staff.
  • Work closely with programme staff and departments to identify needs and implement solutions that align with organizational goals.
  • Allocate IT assets to staff based on requirements, ensuring proper tracking and maintenance of records.
  • Develop strategies for maintaining office data backups and managing IT infrastructure.
  • Conduct training sessions for staff on the use of IT equipment and applications.
  • Provide induction for new employees regarding IT policies and practices.
  • Visit field locations to monitor the use of IT equipment and provide hands-on support.
  • Assist in closing email accounts for departing staff and ensure proper tracking of mobile devices.


Qualification Requirements :

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of experience in IT design and system implementation in a similar role.
  • Hands on experience in setting up, configuring, administering, and supporting servers and desktops.
  • Must have adequate experience in website and database development and maintenance.
  • Experience in the application and use of ERP (Dynamics 365 Business Central).
  • Proficient in computer hardware, networking, software applications, and mobile device troubleshooting.
  • Strong management information system knowledge, inventory management, and stakeholder relations.
  • Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Excellent communication skills to explain complex concepts to non-technical users.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership qualities to enable them guide a team effectively.
  • A commitment to the mission, vision, and values of FAWE Ghana.


Languages:

  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Working knowledge of French language will be an added advantage.
