Job Summary:
NiBS University is seeking a highly motivated and experienced IT and Website Manager to lead our IT operations and oversee the university's website. This critical role will be responsible for managing the IT team, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of all IT infrastructure, and maintaining and updating the university's website with accurate and engaging information about our programs, events, and departments. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, excellent leadership abilities, and a keen eye for detail.
Responsibilities:
IT Management:
• Lead and manage the IT team, including recruitment, training, performance management, and professional development.
• Administer and provide technical support for the Learning Management System (LMS)
• Oversee the planning, implementation, and maintenance of the university's IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, networks, and telecommunications systems.
• Ensure the security and integrity of the university's data and systems through the implementation and enforcement of IT policies and procedures.
• Manage and troubleshoot IT-related issues, providing timely and effective technical support to faculty, staff, and students.
• Develop and manage the IT budget to ensure cost-effectiveness and efficient resource allocation.
• Stay abreast of the latest technological advancements and recommend innovative solutions to enhance the university's operations and academic delivery.
• Manage relationships with external IT vendors and service providers.
• Ensure compliance with relevant data protection laws and regulations.
• Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans for IT systems.
Website Management:
• Serve as the primary administrator and content manager for the university's website.
• Ensure the website is user-friendly, visually appealing, and optimized for search engines (SEO).
• Regularly update the website with accurate and timely information about academic programs, faculty profiles, upcoming events, news, and departmental activities.
• Collaborate with various departments to gather and create engaging website content, including text, images, videos, and other multimedia.
• Monitor website performance using analytics tools and implement strategies to improve user experience and engagement.
• Ensure the website is secure and protected against cyber threats.
• Manage website hosting, domain registration, and other related services.
• Develop and maintain website content guidelines and ensure adherence across all contributors.
• Troubleshoot website issues and coordinate with technical support as needed.
• Implement and manage online registration and application processes through the website.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master's degree is an advantage.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in IT management, including team leadership.
• Proven experience in managing and maintaining complex websites using Content Management Systems (CMS) such as WordPress, Drupal, or similar.
• Strong understanding of web design principles, user experience (UX), and user interface (UI) best practices.
• Solid knowledge of SEO principles and techniques.
• Excellent technical skills in network administration, server management, hardware, and software troubleshooting.
• Experience with database management systems.
• Familiarity with web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics).
• Strong understanding of IT security principles and best practices.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Experience in an educational institution is desirable.
