Interior Decorator

Responsibilities and Requirements: 

Design Consultation:

• Meet with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and budget.
• Provide expert advice on interior design concepts, themes, and styles.

Space Planning and Layout:

• Develop design layouts and plans that optimize the use of space.
• Create 2D and 3D visualizations to present design concepts to clients.

Material and Product Selection:

• Source and recommend furniture, fabrics, colours, lighting, and accessories.
• Work with vendors and suppliers to procure high-quality materials within budget.

Project Management:

• Oversee the entire decorating process from concept to completion.
• Collaborate with contractors, artisans, and other professionals to execute designs.

Budget Management:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and ensure projects stay within budget.
• Negotiate pricing with suppliers and vendors to maximize value.

Trend Awareness:

• Stay updated on the latest trends, techniques, and innovations in interior design.
• Incorporate modern and timeless design elements into projects.

Customer Engagement:

• Build strong relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction.
• Provide regular updates and address any concerns during the project.

Compliance and Safety:

• Ensure all designs adhere to safety regulations and building codes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in interior decoration or design.
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar tools.
• Strong knowledge of materials, furniture, and colour schemes.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail and creativity in problem-solving.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Experience in designing for residential, commercial, and office spaces.
• Knowledge of local suppliers and markets for sourcing materials.
• Strong portfolio showcasing previous interior decor projects.
