Job Description – Heavy Duty Mechanic (Asafo, Kumasi)

Rana Motors (Asafo, Kumasi) is seeking to employ dynamic and innovative Heavy Duty Mechanics for its Kumasi branch. To inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty equipment and machinery, ensuring optimal performance and minimizing downtime in compliance with safety and operational standards.

Conduct detailed inspections of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment to identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.

Responsibilities

·      Use diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot problems in engines, transmissions, and other systems.

·      Perform repairs on heavy-duty machinery, including bulldozers, excavators, loaders, cranes, and trucks.

·      Replace or repair parts such as engines, brakes, hydraulics, and cooling systems.

·      Conduct routine maintenance, such as oil changes, lubrication, and system calibrations, to extend equipment life.

·      Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.

·      Provide detailed reports on equipment condition and recommend preventive maintenance measures.

·      Update logs on spare parts inventory and requisition replacements when needed.

·      Ensure all repair and maintenance activities comply with workplace safety and environmental regulations.

·      Inspect tools, equipment, and safety gear to ensure proper function and safety compliance.

·      Train operators on basic equipment care and preventive maintenance techniques.

·      Work closely with operators and other mechanics to prioritize and complete repairs efficiently.

·      Assist in planning and scheduling maintenance to minimize operational disruptions.

·      Experience in Heavy Duty Trucks (Ford. Ashok, others, etc.)

·      Diagnosis and troubleshooting of mechanical issues

·      Replacement of worn or damaged parts of heavy duty Trucks

·      Vehicles Inspection and Safety Compliance

Qualifications:

Education and Certifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and transmission repair.

Minimum of 2–3 years of experience repairing and maintaining heavy-duty equipment.

Salary: NET 1500 to NET 3,000 based on experience + overtime on Saturday
