Job Description/Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee academic and administrative operations to ensure smooth and daily functioning of a school (Pre-School to JHS 3)
- Lead, mentor, and support teachers in delivering an engaging and effective curriculum.
- Build strong relationships with parents, staff, and the wider community.
Duties & Responsibilities:
With your vast and varied experience, ingenuity and leadership potentials, we know that you will be able to carry out the following responsibilities.
- Interview, supervise and appraise staff members. (A person is deemed as a staff of our School only after approval from the Board/CEO at all times)
- Provide in-service training and enforce policies for personnel and the Programme.
- Provide a safe healthy environment by constant supervision of the ground and play items.
- Develop an appropriate curriculum and evaluate each learner's progress.
- Encourage participation and involvement of parents in programmes.
- Design as many programmes as possible to enhance the growth and development of the learners in the schools. (this may require the involvement of external facilitators/resources)
- Be responsible for checking the teachers’ forecast and lesson notes based on the curriculum provided on weekly and to make any amendment necessary.
- Be responsible for the moral, spiritual as well as the academic upliftment of the leaners in the pursuit of their studies.
- Work closely with the CEO who you are directly responsible to.
- Report to work early at 7:00am, be punctual and leave at 4:30pm, earliest.
- Receive and respond to all correspondence and visitors in collaboration with the CEO.
- Keep a record of all events with the mind to prepare and present an annual report at the end of each year.
- Maintain discipline in the compound at all times.
- All external correspondence to stakeholders must be approved by the CEO.
- Ensure that records/inventory of supplied or purchased items for office use and in the possession of each teacher, the cook and the cleaner are being kept.
- Ensure that receipt of school fees, levies must only be through the authorized channels approved by the school.
- Ensure that the payment plan for the collection of fees is strictly adhered to.
- Ensure that the Learners and parents’ records are duly entered in the appropriate books and files provided. i.e. Admission Registrar, Admission Files, etc.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in a leadership role, preferably as a Headteacher.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
