Job Description/Requirements
The Head of Sales, ECOWAS, is responsible for leading and executing the sales strategy across ECOWAS markets. This role ensures revenue growth, market penetration, and the development of strong distributor and trade relationships in line with Promasidor’s business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales Strategy & Execution
- Develop and implement a robust sales strategy to drive revenue growth and expand market share across ECOWAS.
- Set and achieve sales targets in alignment with business goals.
- Identify opportunities for market expansion and new product introductions.
2. Distributor & Trade Management
- Build and manage relationships with key distributors and trade partners across the region.
- Monitor distributor performance, ensuring compliance with sales agreements and performance metrics.
- Drive the effectiveness of the Route-to-Market (RTM) model to enhance distribution and availability.
3. Sales Operations & Performance Monitoring
- Track key sales metrics, including volume, market share, and profitability.
- Conduct regular market visits to assess retail execution and competitor activity.
- Provide sales forecasts and performance reports to senior management.
4. People Management & Capability Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales team across ECOWAS markets.
- Foster a performance-driven culture by setting clear objectives and providing continuous feedback.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, compliance standards, and ethical sales practices.
5. Trade Marketing & Brand Execution
- Work closely with the Marketing team to ensure proper execution of trade promotions and visibility programs.
- Ensure that brand presence aligns with Promasidor’s standards in all ECOWAS markets.
- Oversee the implementation of pricing and promotional strategies.
6. Market Intelligence & Competitor Analysis
- Gather and analyze market insights to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Provide recommendations on competitive positioning and pricing strategies.
- Adapt sales strategies based on evolving consumer and market dynamics.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field. A Master’s degree is an advantage.
- Minimum of 10 years experience in sales leadership roles within FMCG.
- Proven track record in managing sales operations across multiple ECOWAS countries.
- Strong experience in distributor and trade partner management.
- Fluency in English and French is mandatory.
