Job Summary
This is a full-time on-site role as an Agronomist for our greenhouse farm located in Adeiso, Eastern region, near Nsawam. The Agronomist will be responsible for various day-to-day tasks related to soil science, agriculture, irrigation, research, supervision, and plant nutrition.

Job Description/Requirements
Role Purpose
Coordinate Agronomy team operations with a focus on delivery of high-quality plants that enable successful pollination and high seed yield. Responsible for performing crop maintenance activities, management of the day to day fertilization and irrigation, setting up irrigation, and fertigation programs, Preparing the greenhouse for the required daily activities, sampling and analyzing of fertilization, soil and tissue samples, pest scouting and treatment, and pest prevention. Maintain greenhouse sanitation standards according to protocols. Always follow all safety regulations and protocols to ensure a safe working environment. Coordinate activities to optimize use of resources; drive continuous operational improvement. Communicate and work to resolve issues within broader operational team.
Requirements
- Degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Science or any other directly related field with some years of experience working as an agronomist in a greenhouse.
- Must be willing to reside on the farm and to relocate if necessary.
- Proficiency with computers, Awareness of industry trends, technology and developments, exceptional active listening and verbal and written communication skills is important.
Job Competencies
- Experience in conducting research related to greenhouse farming and preventing damage from pests.
- Knowledge of plant nutrition and fertilization techniques
- Ability to analyze soil samples and make recommendations for optimal crop growth
- Experience in managing and maintaining greenhouse crops.
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to improve crop yield, and nutritional values of crops; and solve problems of the farm.
- Assisting with the plant selection process and the development of planting and irrigation schedules, budgets, and timelines.
- Keeping detailed records regarding fields, customers, crops, and samples and generating reports and presenting findings to management.
- Any other assigned duties or responsibilities related to the farm’s operation.
