Fullstack Software Engineer (Ruby on Rails)

Responsibilities:

• Development of a Ruby on Rails-based application, including APIs and front-end components, built using PostgreSQL, Jbuilder, Hotwire, Haml, Sass, and more.
• Work on tech stack running on AWS and provide cloud maintenance functions, including: custom AMI creation, resource provisioning and maintenance, cloud monitoring and event handling.
• Enforce clean code and excellent coding practices by conducting thoughtful code reviews, ensuring best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
• Actively contribute to system architecture discussions and technical design reviews to ensure our security, reliability, and scalability requirements are met. 
• Design and maintain B2B APIs and work with multiple 3rd party counterparts to support successful integration.
• Review and groom Users Stories with the product team to understand and clarify intent.
• Track and communicate delivery progress and risks to Engineering Lead and other stakeholders.
• Provide production support for the deployed product.
• Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on customers and/or operations.
• Create and maintain documentation of code, architecture, and system configurations.
• Write automated tests to verify feature functionality.
• Influence, coach, and support other Jr. engineers on the team, with a strong focus on feedback and growth.
• You will support the Engineering lead by working towards elevating the design, implementation, quality, and strong engineering practices across the team.

Qualifications:

• English fluency
• 4+ years software engineering / developer experience
• 2+ years hands-on developing with Ruby on Rails
• 2+ years experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL (preferably both)
• Possess a solid understanding of object oriented programming principles
• Previous experience leading small teams
• Fluency in Git and AWS services, including: S3, RDS, EC2, and Elastic Beanstalk
• Demonstrated experience designing B2B APIs
• Critical thinker and problem solver
• Strong team player in a collaborative environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
