Job Summary

The Financial Accountant/Revenue Assurance Officer is responsible for ensuring that revenue risks and any potential revenue leakage is timely identified and addressed, implementing established processes to audit internal controls across the entire revenue cycle

Job Description/Requirements

Finance

  • Assist in the preparation of budgets
  • Process invoices
  • Identify and mitigate gaps across revenue processes, with an objective to effectively managing inherent revenue related risk to an acceptable level and provide assurance of minimal revenue leakage
  • Implement positive change to revenue control systems, processes and revenue management by consistently addressing revenue cycle process deficiencies (from sales, contract management, rate management, billing to accounts receivable, including confirmation of general ledger integrity)
  • Manage records and receipts
  • Perform reconciliations for all revenue streams, components and systems on regular basis
  • Monitor and analyze patterns and trends for all revenue streams on regular basis.
  • Conduct revenue assurance; analyze reports to detect revenue leakages and identify the gaps in existing controls
  • Communicate any discrepancy or findings to the related teams and departments
  • Review any fraud patterns in the revenue streams
  • Detect fraud, acting upon, and initiating preventive measures and verify that fraud claim investigations are completed on time and in accordance with set policies and procedures
  • Evaluate/test new products, services and systems; and assess risks associated with revenue assurance prior to launch
  • Responsible for preparing financial statements
  • Resolve financial disputes raised by the customer service and sales teams
  • Serve as key point of contact for other departments on financial and accounting matters


Other Duties

  • Performs any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the CEO


Reporting Requirements

  • Weekly revenue assurance, administrative and personnel updates with Line Manager
  • Submit monthly work plan and reports
  • Submit periodic reports as and when required


Technical Competencies / Skills required

  • Good understanding and appreciation of people management
  • Ability to analyze, verify and validate end-to-end revenue (transaction) cycle completeness, accuracy, system integrity and reporting, as initiated from sales activity, through to accounts receivables
  • Strong numeracy skills
  • Data analysis skills
  • Good appreciation of IT technology
  • Working knowledge of internal control and governance systems
  • Relevant working experience in a complex, technology-oriented industry
  • Working knowledge of relevant taxes and understanding of financial regulatory requirements

  • Excellent planning and organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple competing priorities
  • Ability to handle pressure and meet deadline
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with experience in managing diverse stakeholders

  • Excellent presentation and negotiation skills

IT Skills Required

  • Proficient in usage of Intuit QuickBooks
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Working knowledge in any major relevant accounting software
