Engineering Graduate

Job Purpose:

To deliver specific tasks on all assigned plant projects together with the relevant manager and related project based role players internal and external to the business in order to increase own exposure and knowledge in handling machinery, investigating operational matters, estimating designs, apply appropriate technical problem solving mindset, apply technical models and tools, track and/or manage manufacturing tools and applying appropriate techniques to operational challenges and requirements.

Qualifications required to fulfil the role

• Matric
• B-Degree
• Completed a Bachelor of Science or Engineering in Electrical/Mechanical/Chemical/Industrial Engineering in the last two years

Specific Work Experience, Knowledge and Skills required to fulfil the role

• No work experience is required – maximum of 1year work experience will be considered
• A drive and mind to shape processes and plants for exceptional performance in the future
• Average academic record of 65%+
• Good command of English language written and oral in order to effectively interact and communicate with other employees
• Basic computer literacy essential - Working knowledge of MS Office applications will be preferred
• French and English speaking

Key Accountabilities

• Learn to effective utilize, assess and diagnose issues with operational tools and equipment
• Research and provide analytics on market trends, cost projections, maintenance plans, design concepts and customer quality considerations to keep the business relevant in the market
• Build and foster effective working relationships with internal and customer based role players to respond to customer or management needs proactively
• Provide technical support to the assigned managers and operational teams on assigned projects to ensure feasibility of the project and achieve the desired outcomes
• Participate in project team meetings to ensure team members are kept informed and deal effectively with challenges or critical impacts on the project or in the team
• Provide appropriate estimates, budgets and financial analysis on required projects or sectors to improve the business sustainability and cost control
• Prepare accurate reports in a timely manner
• Participate fully in assigned development programmes and modules
• Present quarterly to Plant Management or Senior leadership of the team on opportunities, threats or projects
• Stay abreast of developments in own field in order to apply best practice and share knowledge with the broader team
• Rotations throughout various departments within the Business will be required
• All such duties and/or activities assigned by management/board as and when required.
