Driver at Gold Fields

The Finance Department of Abosso Goldfields Limited - Damang Mine is seeking to employ the services of a competent person to fill the position of Driver. The incumbent will be responsible for transporting employees and other stakeholders on business or special assignments safely and cost effectively in order to make immense contribution towards the achievement of set production targets.



Key Responsibilities



:



Conduct daily inspection and pre-start checks on vehicles, and complete required vehicle pre-start check list.



Operate vehicles according to the company’s transport requirements in a safe and timely manner, transporting employees, luggage and other stakeholders to various destinations for business purposes.



Prepare and submit reports on accidents, vehicle breakdowns, and repairs to the Supervisor and provide feedback after completion of tasks assigned.



Ensure compliance with the requirements of Ghana Road Traffic Act & Regulations.



Regularly contribute to cost saving practices and productivity improvement of assigned task.



Maintain records of driving hours and vehicle mileage.



Ensure vehicle insurance and road worthiness are always up to date.



Maintain vehicles in safe and clean condition.



Adhere to GFG Road Journey Management Procedure.



Key Requirements



Basic Education Certificate/ Middle School Leaving Certificate (MSLC) or its equivalent qualification.



A valid Ghanaian drivers’ license “C” and proficiency in driving.



3 - 4 years of driving experience in a multinational organization or mining environment.



Technical know-how in defensive driving and good knowledge in road traffic signs and regulations.



Safety conscious, respectful, punctual and maintain confidentiality of information at all times.



Good knowledge of Ghana’s geographical map.



Well-developed communication skills as well as the ability to interact with people of diverse cultures.



Anticipates, plans and reacts quickly and flexibly to changing circumstances.



Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently and accurately will be an advantage.
