Job Description/Requirements
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The Deputy Director or Logistics and Stores shall provide support for the Clerk and Management of the Service through the Director of Transport, Logistics and Stores by performing the following duties:
• Provide technical support in developing and implementing logistics strategies, policies, guidelines and procedures to ensure efficient and cost-effective movement of persons, goods and materials
• Assist in planning and coordinating and logistics operations including requirements of the Parliamentary Service
• Ensure compliance with policies, guidelines and other regulatory distribution activities, maintaining documentation and records
• Advise on technical requirements in the acquisition and procurement of logistics for the Parliamentary Service
• Promote new or improved administrative, stores and clerical procedures to maintain economy and efficiency to stores operations
• Assist in monitoring the effective management of all stores activities of Parliament Services
• Liaise with departments to establish minimum, reordering and maximum stock levels of materials and monitor to ensure compliance
• Provide technical input for the preparation of stores code or vocabulary, standards and materials specifications for easy identification and retrieval of store items
• Assist in maintaining and updating records on all stores transactions
• Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the clerk to Parliament
Qualification Required & Experience
• A good first degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a relevant discipline from a recognised university with a minimum of 9 of post-qualification work experience and a Master's degree in the relevant discipline with at least 3 years in a position analogous to Assistant Director 1 in a public service institution OR
• A Master's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a relevant discipline from a recognised University with at least 6 years of post-qualification work experience and at least 3 years in a position analogous to a public service institution
Age Limit: Except when an applicant has been in the employment of a public service institution or state agency, the applicant should not be above 45 years of age on the date of appointment to the post.
