Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
Data Protection Compliance:
- Develop and implement data protection policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GDPR and other relevant regulations.
- Monitor data processing activities and conduct regular audits to ensure compliance.
- Serve as the point of contact for data protection authorities and manage data breach incidents.
Legal Advisory:
- Provide legal advice on data protection matters and corporate development initiatives.
- Draft and review contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to ensure compliance with data protection laws.
- Stay updated on changes in data protection legislation and advise the organization accordingly.
Corporate Development:
- Identify and evaluate opportunities for corporate development, including mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships.
- Conduct due diligence and risk assessments for potential business ventures.
- Develop and implement strategies to drive business growth and enhance corporate value.
Training and Awareness:
- Conduct training sessions for employees on data protection best practices and legal compliance.
- Develop educational materials and resources to promote data protection awareness within the organization.
- Ensure that all staff are aware of their responsibilities regarding data protection.
Risk Management:
- Identify and assess data protection risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Implement data breach response plans and ensure timely reporting of incidents.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and update risk management policies as needed.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of data protection and corporate development goals.
- Manage relationships with external partners, including legal advisors, regulator bodies, and industry associations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in data protection, legal advisory, or corporate development.
- Strong understanding of GDPR and other data protection regulations.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in legal research and drafting.
- Represent the organization in meetings and negotiations related to data protection and corporate development.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (LLM, MBA, or equivalent) is a plus.
- Certification in data protection (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPM) or related fields.
- Experience in IT& Telecoms Industry.
