Data Protection Officer/Corporate Development Manager

Responsibilities:
Data Protection Compliance:

• Develop and implement data protection policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GDPR and other relevant regulations.
• Monitor data processing activities and conduct regular audits to ensure compliance.
• Serve as the point of contact for data protection authorities and manage data breach incidents.

Legal Advisory:

• Provide legal advice on data protection matters and corporate development initiatives.
• Draft and review contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to ensure compliance with data protection laws.
• Stay updated on changes in data protection legislation and advise the organization accordingly.

Corporate Development:

• Identify and evaluate opportunities for corporate development, including mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships.
• Conduct due diligence and risk assessments for potential business ventures.
• Develop and implement strategies to drive business growth and enhance corporate value.

Training and Awareness:

• Conduct training sessions for employees on data protection best practices and legal compliance.
•  Develop educational materials and resources to promote data protection awareness within the organization.
• Ensure that all staff are aware of their responsibilities regarding data protection.

 Risk Management:

• Identify and assess data protection risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Implement data breach response plans and ensure timely reporting of incidents.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and update risk management policies as needed.
  
  

Stakeholder Engagement:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of data protection and corporate development goals.
• Manage relationships with external partners, including legal advisors, regulator bodies, and industry associations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in data protection, legal advisory, or corporate development.
• Strong understanding of GDPR and other data protection regulations.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in legal research and drafting.
• Represent the organization in meetings and negotiations related to data protection and corporate development.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced degree (LLM, MBA, or equivalent) is a plus.
• Certification in data protection (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPM) or related fields.
• Experience in IT& Telecoms Industry.
